A pretty novel, albeit gritty, twist on the whole reality “pickup in a car” theme, Pimp 4 a Day turns the tables and makes the male the outsider rather than the female. The camera crew, accompanied by a sexy Ebony (usually the slim and pretty Ms. Tammy), cruise the streets looking for a lucky soul to become “Pimp 4 a Day.” Picking up the guy is an easy task (after all, there’s a woman in the car fondling herself) and afterwards the group heads back to their place and gives the guy a quick makeover, usually consisting of simply a new outfit and shoes. They hit the streets again and this time the “pimp” has to convince a second female to climb into the van and head back with them for some hot three-way action.

If the people from “Pimp My Ride” decided to make a no-budget porn with a hint of “Queer Eye” thrown in, the result would be something very similar to Pimp 4 a Day. The dialogue is no better or worse than any other reality site out there. The setup is even pretty believable until it comes time to pick up the second woman (many of whom appear to be actual hookers picked up from the street). And it’s probably no coincidence that in every episode someone points to the camera and says, “What’s up with these white guys with the camera?”

Perhaps it is a credit to the site that the people featured do, in fact, look like they were snatched up from off the street. Pretty female faces are all around, a handful of the women featured are sexy with luscious curves, but most of them are just flat out chunky. Not to say that the men are any better, some of the guys on the site are so busted (even after being pimped out) that their ugliness distracts from the action. One guy featured is missing all of his teeth except for the upper right row.

The sex is rough and furious, expect lots of screaming and thunderous ass smacking. The three-way setup allows for some great positions and enough variety across episodes to keep you watching. Each session starts with some hot oral, both women fitting their mouths around whatever part of the cock they can find, and proceeds to some even hotter two-on-one fucking. The women-on-top positions are always the highlight. These ladies (especially the thicker ones) really know how to make their ass grind and bounce on a hard dick!

However, viewers will have to contend with the cameraman’s omnipresent voice as he throws in directions and asinine questions (“How does that feel?” “You ridin’ that dick?”) between moans of pleasure. The nods between them and the ladies as they share small talk and inside jokes can be even more annoying. All in all, everyone is having a good time, but when the cameraman says something to a woman that makes her bust out laughing while she’s taking a hard doggystyle one wonders if they might be having too much fun. Laughter is sexy but not when it halts the main attraction.

There are also some rough edits here and there. Abrupt cuts seem intended to facilitate a change of camera angle but it really looks more like the camera battery died and they had to stop everything to replace it. The camera itself remains more or less static (as does the location – a brown couch) never venturing into many unique angles. Some episodes look like they may have been shot from the same storyboard.

The movie quality is only passing (a fuzzy 300k in both WMV and MOV formats) making it not the worst you’ve ever downloaded but certainly nowhere near the best. Whenever a site deals in MOVs instead of MPEGs or AVIs you know it was a matter of saving server space over preserving video quality. Quicktime files are great if you like streaming small video, but since only the pro version of Quicktime has a full screen option there’s not much enjoyment in downloading MOV clips to watch later.

What’s worse is that the site seems to be catered toward lower speed connections. There is no option to download an episode as a whole. Instead, users are given the option of downloading it in three segments (30-50MB WMV or 40 – 60MB MOV) “The Pick-Up,” “The Oral,” and “The Fuck” or in several 5-minute 10MB WMV or MOV pieces.
The alternative is to stream the segments straight off the site where they can be viewed in a small popup window in all their pixilated glory (with no option to resize or open in an external player). Downloading under any option is an unnecessary hassle. Selecting a clip to download opens a pop up window to stream the segment – it can then be downloaded from this window using the usual right-click, save-as method. This leads to all sorts of problems with the window opening and loading the video. Users with slower computers who just want to download might find that the site content doesn’t balance out all of the times that their browser crashes.

The galleries are inexplicably separated from the movies but are categorized in the same way (Movie title: “the pickup,” the oral,” “the fuck”). And even though they are basically just screencaps or pics taken during the filming, they are actually in crisp high resolution digital (the same quality one wishes the movies were in). It’s a sad day when the pictures gallery outshines the video section.

Although the site isn’t setup very logically, navigating it is pretty simple and straightforward. The site is fairly new so there’s not much content (only 14 episodes at the time this review was written), but it is updated regularly so there is a promise of it having a lot to offer in the future. As a bonus, membership offers access to a number of other reality and video feed sites including Latina Sex, Fresh Teens, and Naughty Therapy. The downside is that many of these sites seem to have the same problems as Pimp 4 a Day - poor movie quality and a roundabout, glitchy downloading process. Not to mention that a number of them deal in gay or fetish-oriented material.

Pimp 4 a Day has managed to create a concept unique enough to distinguish it from other reality sites out there. However, there isn’t enough quality or quantity to the content to go along with it. Hardcore Ebony fans will no doubt find something to their liking, but the same caliber performances can be found in greater abundance, and in higher resolution, on other sites.
